Sarah and I kayaked part of the Little Manatee River a few weeks ago. We drove down to Wimauma (pronounced 'why Mama?') and explored this little corner of the world for a good three hours. We had a great day and already have a trip planned in July on a different river, this time for a longer, more challenging paddle.

Happy First Anniversary, Adriana and David!
One year ago today, my sister and David were married at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The setting was spectacular, and the weather was perfect: warm, dry and sunny.
This picture shows us during the processional. Shortly before it was our turn to walk down the aisle, 18-month-old Jonah started to lose his patience and we had to pacify him with raisins. When we received our cue, I stuffed one last wad of raisins in his mouth and nudged him forward. Of course, Jonah had no idea what was going on. He just knew that mommy and daddy were walking with him and were each holding one of his hands, which can only mean one thing--one, two, three, WHEE!!! The little rascal did this all the way down the aisle, oblivious to the laughing guests (and his struggling, flustered parents!). I wish I could post a picture of the happy couple, but I don't have any other wedding pictures (hint, hint, Adriana).

Today something inspired me to activate my blog, so without further ado...here's my first post! Don't get too excited (Adriana), because my motivation may be gone by tomorrow. I promise to try, though.
What better way to get this blog rolling than a picture of Jonah? He really is Mr. Happy most of the time, and I am enjoying this not-so-terrible two's stage immensely. This picture was taken at his preschool back in April.
